The Last Canadian Penny

The last penny has been made, according to Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance.  He participated in a ceremony to commemorate the end of production of the penny for Canadian circulation on May 4, 2012.  Our original logo, created in 1981, featured the copper penny.  The idea behind it was that the little things add up. While we aren’t actually dealing with one cent units, the basic idea still stands – the small $ do add up to big $!
