BC cuts PST in half on non-residential electricity

Following years of steeply increasing hikes to the cost of electricity, the Provincial Budget 2017-18 includes a plan to eliminate the Provincial Sales Tax charged on non-residential electricity.
The plan is to phase out the PST on electricity sales starting in October 2017 by reducing the PST on power from 7% to 3.5%.

As of April 2019, the PST on power will be completely phased out for commercial and industrial users.

This is particularly good news for BC pulp and paper industry, helping many of our clients be more competitive in this tight market.
